Argument

TermDefinition
Argument When the author wants to convince you of their position.
Claim The author's main point.
Evidence What the author uses to support their claim.
counterclaim The opposite viewpoint of the author's claim.
rebuttal When the author responds directly to the counterclaim.
credibility The author is able to be believed and trusted.
Ethos Convincing by the character of the author
Pathos Persuading by appealing to the reader's emotions.
Logos Persuading by the use of reasoning.
