Due Process Amends.
| Term | Definition |

| 4th amendment | prohibits unreasonable searches and seizures; warrants must be issued by a judge and must be specifc |
| 5th amendment | no person can be subject to more than one punishment/trial for the same offense or compelled to witness against themselves; nor be deprived of life liberty or property without due Process of law |
| 6th amendment | a person has the right to a speedy, public trial judged by an impartial jury made of their peers; a notice of charges must be given to the accused |
| 8th amendment | prohibits the federal gov. from imposing excessive bail, excessive fines, or cruel and unusual punishments |
| 14th amendment | prohibits state and local gov. from depriving a person of their life, liberty, or property without the due Process of law |
