Prereferral a school-based, preventative process to help struggling students by providing targeted academic or behavioral interventions before a formal special education referral is made

RTI a students change or lackthereof as a result of education
screening instruments typically administered to a large group of students
Progress monitoring assessmentd frequent, quick and easy measures that teachers administer at regular intervals
CBM involves students' responses to their usual instructional materials
IEP It is a legal document that describes the educational services a student recieves
IFSP describes the services that the child will receive
LRE Means that the student should be seperated from nondisabled classmates, home, and community as little as possible
Collabrative consultation the teacher or psychologist acts as a professional who provides advice to the gen ed teachers
co teaching involves general and special education teachers working together
cooperative learning instructional strategy that many proponents of inclusion believe is an effective way to integrate students with disabilities
peer-mediated instruction may refer to peer tutoring and the use of peer confederates
CWPT all students in gen ed classroom routinely engage in peer tutoring
Partial participation entails having students with disabilities participate in virtually all activities
modifications include changes in instruction that dont change the content
adaptions involve more significant modifications
tiered assignments adaptations where teachers provide choices of varying difficulty for assignments on a single topic
