| Water Cycle | The continuous movement of water on, above, and through the Earth. |
| Weather | The condition of the air at a certain place and time. |
| Climate | The average weather in a region over a long time. |
| Evaporation | When water (liquid) is heated and changes into water vapor (gas). |
| Condensation | When water vapor (gas) cools and changes back into water (liquid). |
| Precipitation | The release of water from clouds as rain, snow, sleet, or hail. |
| Sediment | Small pieces of weathered rock. |
| Weathering | The breaking down of larger rocks into smaller pieces called sediment. |
| Erosion | The movement of sediment from one location to another. |
| Deposition | The drop off or settling of sediment as the motion of the wind or water slows or comes to a stop. |
| Conservation | The process of protecting a natural resource. |
| Fossil Fuel | A substance formed from dead organisms that can be used for energy. |
| Non-renewable | A natural resource that can be used up or that cannot be replaced. |
| Renewable | A natural resource that cannot be used up or that can be replaced. |
