| Lysosome | Organelle that contains enzymes and is often used to digest materials inside the cell. |
| Ribosome | Ball of proteins in the cytoplasm. Site of RNA translation. |
| Transport proteins | Help with transport into and out of the cell via facilitated diffusion. |
| Cholesterol | Used to keep phospholipids tails from sticking together or becoming tangled. |
| Carbohydrate | Initiates cell to cell recognition in the cell membrane. |
| Flagella | A tail-like projection that aids in movement. |
| Pili | A small hair- like projections on a prokaryote that increases surface area, aid in movement, and/or adhesion to surfaces. |
| Cytoplasm | A gel-like substance that holds organelles in place inside the cell. |
| Centrioles | Aid in cell division by facilitating the separation of chromosomes. |
| Host cell | A cell that has been infected by a pathogen. |
