The largest psychological association has 54 divisions. What does that suggest about the field of psychology? The field of psychology is large and diverse. Tens of thousands of people belong to the American Psychological Association, which has 54 divisions focusing on a wide variety of topic areas.
What is the main difference between applied psychology specializations and basic research psychology specializations? Applied psychology are areas in which psychologists apply their expertise to real world problems. Basic research psychology specializations are areas in which psychologists conduct research to further the understanding of behavior and mental processes.
