temperature a measure of how hot or cold something is; specifically a measure of the average kinetic energy of the particles in an object
air pressure the measure of the force with which air molecules push on a surface
humidity the amount of water vapor in the air
wind the movement of air caused by difference in air pressure
precipitation any form of water that falls to Earth’s surface from the clouds; includes rain, snow, sleet and hail
weather the short-term state of the atmosphere, including temperature, humidity, precipitation, wind and air pressure
thermometer tool to measure temperature
rain gauge tool to measure precipitation
psychrometer tool to measure humidity
barometer tool to measure air pressure
anemometer tool to measure wind speed
