Nonrenewable Resource a natural resource, like oil, coal, gas, or minerals, that exists in finite amounts and cannot be replenished by natural processes in a short time
Renewable Resource a natural material or energy source that replenishes itself naturally and relatively quickly
Biomass Energy comes from organic materials like plants, wood, crops, manure, and waste
Geothermal Energy heat from within the Earth, a vast renewable resource used for electricity generation and direct heating/cooling
Hydroelectric Power generates electricity from the energy of moving water, using dams or river flows to spin turbines connected to generators
Solar Energy Solar energy is radiant light and heat from the Sun
Wind Farm an area of several square kilometers that houses an array of wind turbines to harness
Deorestation the clearing of forests for other land uses like farming, logging, or urbanization
