What was the first thing Jonas noticed when he looked at the new child? The first thing Jonas noticed was that the child had light eyes like his own. (Light eyes are very rare)
Why did Lily’s mother not want her to be a birth mother? There is no honor in being a birth mother.
What happened to the apple when Jonas and Asher were throwing it back and forth? The apple changed, for just an instant Jonas saw the apple differently.
Why did Jonas never talk about Benjamin’s accomplishments? it was considered bragging and it is a rule that you cannot brag. He doesn’t want to give Benjamin the opportunity to break the rule.
What happened if an eleven did not get enough volunteer hours before their ceremony of twelve? The get extra time to get the rest of their hours and then they have a private ceremony. It is considered a disgrace.
Explain what happens at a releasing ceremony. There is a telling of their life, a toast, a goodbye speech and then they walk through a special door in the Releasing Room.
