Polygon Flat 2-dimensional shapes that are closed, straight sides and no intersecting lines
Quadrilaterals 4 sided figures
Trapezoid 4 sided figure with only 1 set of parallel sides
Rectangle 4 sided figure with 4 right angles, 2 sets of parallel sides and opposite sides are the same length
Square 4 sided figure with 4 right angles, 2 sets of parallel sides and all sides are the same length
Parallelogram 4 sided figure. 2 sets of parallel sides. Opposite sides are equal in length.
Rhombus 4 sided figure. All sides are equal in length. Opposite angles are equal
Triangle 3 sided figure
Pentagon 5 sided figure
Hexagon 6 sided figure
Heptagon 7 sided figure
Octagon 8 sided figure
Nonagon 9 sided figure
Decagon 10 sided figure
Combining Polygons Putting two or more polygons together to create a new polygon
Subdivide Polygons Partitioning a polygon into smaller polygons
Parallel Sides 2 lines that will never met
Ray Has a starting point but goes on forever in one direction
Line Goes on forever in both directions
Line Segment Has a starting point and an ending point
Point Exact Location
Intersecting lines Two lines that cross at a diagonal
Perpendicular lines Two lines that cross forming a right angle
