6. Democracy a form of government in which people choose leaders by voting
7. Dynasty a family of rulers who rule over a country for a long period of time
8. Empire a group of countries or regions that are controlled by one ruler or one government
9. Golden age a period of period of peace, prosperity, and cultural achievements
10. Gynaeceum rooms in a Greek house set aside for women
11. Krater a large vase used to mix wine and water in Ancient Greece
12. Monarchy a form of government with a king or queen at the head who inherits the position due to his/her family
13. Oligarchy a small group of people having control of a country
14. Periodization dividing a subject into historical eras for purposes of analysis and study
15. Republic a country that is governed by elected representatives and by an elected leader (such as president)rather than by an inherited king or queen

18. Symposium gathering where men drank together, conversed, and enjoyed themselves usually following a dinner.
