Reconstruction Amendments (13th, 14th, 15th) | 13th ended slavery; 14th granted citizenship and equal protection; 15th gave Black men the right to vote.
Brown v. Board of Education (1954) | Supreme Court case that ruled segregation in public schools unconstitutional.
Segregation | The forced separation of races in public places.
Integration | The process of bringing races together equally.
Nonviolent Resistance | Peaceful protest methods such as marches, sit-ins, and boycotts.
Montgomery Bus Boycott | A boycott after Rosa Parks’ arrest that led to bus desegregation.
Lunch Counter Sit-ins | Peaceful protests where Black students sat at whites-only lunch counters.
