Dis- absence or removal of something
In- or Im- both mean not but can also means into
Prefixes for Numbering
Primi- first
Mono- or Uni- one of something
Bi- or Di- two or twice
Tri- three
Diplo- used to describe double or something
Treta- or Quardi- both words used to describe four of something
Semi- or Hemi- both mean half but slightly different Hemi- often refers to one side ( like hemisphere half of the world) Semi-- somewhat different because it can mean partial (semiconscious is partly conscious)
Multi- many
Poly- also means many but could mean much in some situations (ex-, polygon has many sides)
