Laboratory Supplies

List of lab supplies in ET shop.

Digital Scale an electronic weight measuring device that uses sensors to provide precise weight readings
Dropper a short glass tube with a rubber bulb at one end and a tiny hole at the other, for measuring out drops of medicine or other liquids.
Test Tube a thin glass tube closed at one end, used to hold small amounts of material for laboratory testing or experiments.
Analytical Balance relating to or using analysis or logical reasoning.
Cuvette a straight-sided, optically clear container for holding liquid samples in a spectrophotometer or other instrument.
Autoclave a strong heated container used for chemical reactions and other processes using high pressures and temperatures, e.g. steam sterilization.
Stir Plate a magnetic stirrer or magnetic mixer is a laboratory device that uses a rotating magnetic field to cause a stir bar immersed in a liquid to spin very quickly thus stirring it.
Volumetric Flask a piece of equipment calibrated and labeled to contain specified volume of liquid.
Kim Wipes wipes that are used to clean glassware, laboratory equipment, and other delicate surfaces.
Thermometer an instrument for measuring temperature.
Microscope an optical instrument used for viewing very small objects such as mineral samples or plant and animal cells typically magnified several hundred times.
Hot Plate a flat heated surface, typically portable, used for cooking food and keeping it hot.
Erlenme Flask a conical flat-bottomed laboratory Flask with a narrow neck.
Graduated Cylinder a piece of laboratory equipment used for measuring liquids.
Slide Cover a thin piece of flat transparent material.
Mortar and pestle A set of two simple tools used to prepare ingredients or substances by crushing and grinding them into a paste or powder in the kitchen,laboratory and pharmacy.
Funnel a tube or pipe that is wide at the top and narrow at the bottom, used for guiding liquid or powder into a small opening.
Incubator a device used to grow and maintain different cell cultures.
Syringe a device used to inject liquids or extract them from something or someone.
Spectrophotometry a branch of electromagnetic spectroscopy concerned with the quantitative measurement of the refection or transmission properties of a material as a function of wavelength.
Lab Spatula similar to a kitchen spatula, laboratory spatula are used in a wide range of laboratory and field testing procedures.
Distilled Water water that has been purified by boiling it into a vapor then condensing it back into liquid in a separate container.
Beaker a lipped cylindrical glass container for laboratory use.
Desiccators a glass container or other apparatus holding a drying agent for removing moisture from specimens and protecting them from water vapor on the air.
Petri Dish a shallow, circular , transparent dish with a plat lid, used for the culture of the microorganisms.
Muffle Furnace a laboratory instrument that is used to heat materials to extremely high temperatures.
Pipette a slender tube attached to or incorporating a bulb, for transferring or measuring out small quantities of liquid.
Crucible a ceramic or metal container in which metals or other substances may be melted or subject to very high temperatures.
Fume Hood a ventilated enclosure in a chemistry laboratory in which harmful volatile chemicals can be kept or used.
Stir Rod a piece of laboratory equipment usually made of solid glass to mix chemicals together.
Microscope Slide A thin flat piece of glass used to hold specimens for examination under a microscope.
Collection Jar a glass jar that gets filled with objects that are collected or observed.
Weigh Boat used to measure, mix or dispense small quantities of stuff.
