| WDWN | Well developed, well nourished |
| PACU | Post-anesthesia care unit |
| CC | Chief complaint - The main reason for the patient's visit |
| Social History | A record of habits like smoking, drinking, drug abuse, and sexual practices that can impact health. |
| Prone position | Patient lying on their belly |
| Medial | Towards the middle. Like the median on a highway. |
| Proximal | Closer to the center. |
| DDx | Differential Diagnosis: a list of conditions the patient may have based on the symptoms. |
| Sequela | a problem that results from a disease or injury. |
| idiopathic | No known specific cause, it just happens. |
| Percussion | To hit something and listen to the resulting sound or feel for the resulting vibration. (Drums are a percussion instrument) |
| Lethargic | Decreased level of consciousness. |
| Chronic | Been going on for a while now. |
