seisnmogram the graphical record of ground motion from seismic waves (like earthquakes) captured by a seismograph
seismogragh a scientific instrument that detects, measures, and records ground motion from earthquakes and other seismic events
tension the act or condition of being stretched tight
compression the process or result of an object or substance being pressed, squeezed, or compacted into a smaller volume due to an applied force or stress
shearing cutting or clipping something close to its surface
