Creating a new government
| Term | Definition |

| Confederation | A group of states or countries that allows each member to govern themselves but they work for a common cause. |
| Articles of Confederation | The first written plan of Government for the U.S. lasting from 1781-1789. |
| Central Government | The group that has political control over the whole country. |
| Republic | A nation in which those who make the laws and ran the government are elected by people. |
| Representative | A person who speaks or acts for a group or community. |
| Impose | To set as something that needs to be followed, done, or obeyed. |
| Ordinance | A regulation, law, decree, or rule, especially one issued by a city or town. |
| Committee | A group of persons chosen to give attention to a particular matter. |
| Amend | To change or add to a law, contract, or other document. |
| Veto | To prevent from taking effect. |
| Supreme | Having the highest rank, position, or authority. |
| Delegate | A person who is chosen to speak or act for others. |
| Constitutional | Having to do with a constitution. |
| Unconstitutional | Not according to the constitution of a state or country. |
| National | Of or having to do with and entire nation. |
