What is S.O.A.P. an acronym for? Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan. This stands for the 4 general parts of a medical note
A diagnosis is: The identification of the patient's problem
A differential diagnosis is: A list of possible causes of the patient's problem
Acute (ah-KYOOT) [general subjective term] Just started recently or is a sharp, severe symptom
Febrile (FEH-brail) [general subjective term] To have a fever
Auscultation (aw-skul-TAY-shun) [general objective term] To listen
Palpation (pal-PAY-shun) [general objective term] To feel
Sequela (seh-KWEL-eh) [general assessment term] A problem resulting from a disease or injury
Prognosis (prawg-NOH-sis) [general assessment term] The chances for things getting better or worse
