Photosythesis

Photosythesis The process where plants turn sunlight into food
autotroph An organism that is able to capture and turn sunlight into food
heterotroph An organism that cannot make its own food
chlorophyll A green photsythetc pigment found in plants algee and bacteria
Cellular resparation The process in which oxygen and glucose undergo a complex series of chemical reactions
fermentaion The process by which cells release energy by breaking down food without using oxygen
cell cycle The series of events in which the cell grows, prepares for division, and divides to form to daughter cells
interphase The first stage of the cell cycle that takes place before cell division ocures
replication The process by which the cell makes a copy of the DNA in its nucleus
cromeosome A threadlike structure within a cells nucleus that contains DNA
mitosis The second stage of the cell cycle in which a cell divides its nucleus into two nuclei and one set of DNA
