Globalisering En process där länder, företag och människor samarbetar mer och blir mer beroende av varandra.
ekosystem Allt liv (djur/växter) och icke-levande (mark/berggrund) i ett naturområde
Konvektionsströmmar strömmar av magma inne i jordens inre som skapar rörelser i jordskorpan
vittring När berg och sten bryts ner.
Erosion En yttre påverkan på jordytan som t.ex. vågor, vind, is, strömmande vatten, som bryter ner jordytan.
Magma Nedsmälta, flytande bergarter som finns inne i jordens inre.
jordskorpan Den yttersta, fasta lagret skalet på jorden 5-50 km tjockt.
jordbävning Även kallat jordskalv, är en plötslig rörelse i jordskorpan så att marken rör sig.
tsunami En flodvåg som orsakas av ett jordskalv/ en jordbävning på havets botten. När de små vågorna i vattnet, som orsakats av jordbävningen rör sig mot land pressas vågen upp av havsbottnen och kan bli till flera meter höga vågor.
vulkan En plats där magma väller upp från jordens inre och blir lava.
jordskred Jord och sten som rasar ner från från en bergssida, ofta efter mycket regn eller en jordbävning.
kåkstad Ett område där människor spontant bygger sina egna hus. Kännetecknas av låg standard på husen, avsaknad av el och rinnande vatten.
luftföroreningar Ämne i atmosfären som kan skada människor, djur eller föremål. Dessa hamnar ofta i atmosfären på grund av människors aktiviteter (avgaser, utsläpp m.m.).
landhöjning Ett landområde som höjer sig i förhållande till havsytan t.ex. Höga kusten.
