Rock Cycle
| Term | Definition |

| Rock | A naturally occurring solid mixture of one or more minerals and organic matter |
| Weathering | The process by which water, wind, ice and changes in temperature break down rock |
| Erosion | The process by which sediment moves from one place to another |
| Deposition | The process by which sediment comes to rest |
| Rock Cycle | The series of processes in which rock forms, changes from one type to another, is destroyed and forms again by geologic processes |
| Igneous Rock | Rock that forms when magma cools and solidifies |
| Metamorphic Rock | Rock that forms from other rocks as a result of intense heat, pressure or chemical processes |
| Sedimentary Rock | Rock that forms when older rocks get compacted and cemented together |
