equilibrium a state of balance

reservoir a body of water used for storing water

runoff water that flows over the ground surface rather than soaking into the ground

transpiration evaporation of water from the leaves of a plant
deposition process in which sediment is laid down in new locations
sublimation a change directly from the solid to the gaseous state without becoming liquid

hydrogen bonds weak attraction between a hydrogen atom and another atom
cohesion attraction between molecules of the same substance

capillary action tendency of water to rise in a thin tube
high boiling point water has a boiling point of 100*c
universal solvent water-due to its polarity and ability to dissolve many different solutes
albedo the light or radiation that is reflected by a surface, typically that of a planet or moon
infiltration permeation of a liquid into the soil by filtration
