Deposit Sediments or rock added to a landform
Compaction Presses sediments together
Sediment Small solid piece of rock created through erosion
Mineral A solid inorganic substance of natural occurrence with a crystalline structure
Rock cycle Series of processes that change one type of rock into another type of rock
Cementation The process in which dissolved minerals, crystallize, and glue particles of sediment together
Magma Molten or liquid rock underground, not lava
Rock Natural solid mixture of minerals
Igneous Forms from magma or lava solidification ( no hard layers)
Sedimentary Formed from sediment compaction (crumbly, layered)
Metamorphic This is formed by the transformation of other rocks (relatively hard, may or may not have layers)
