| Rock cycle | Series of processes that change one type of rock into another type of rock |
| Cementation | The process in which dissolved minerals, crystallize, and glue particles of sediment together |
| Magma | Molten or liquid rock underground, not lava |
| Rock | Natural solid mixture of minerals |
| Igneous | Forms from magma or lava solidification ( no hard layers) |
| Sedimentary | Formed from sediment compaction (crumbly, layered) |
| Metamorphic | This is formed by the transformation of other rocks (relatively hard, may or may not have layers) |
