| Union | the act of joining into one |
| Vacuum | a space that is completely empty of matter |
| Vacation | a time when you are free from work or other obligations; to leave for a break |
| Vacant | empty or unoccupied (e.g., a vacant room). |
| Evacuate | to remove or empty out people or things from a place. |
| Invaluable | not empty of value; extremely valuable (note the double negative-something so valuable it can't be emptied of value). |
| Vacate | to leave a place; to make it empty. |
| Vacationer | someone who is free from work, taking a vacation. |
| Vacuous | empty-headed or lacking content. |
| Vacillate | - to waver or be undecided (moving between two choices, metaphorically "empty" of firm decision). |
