Science

TermDefinition
Convection Heat transfer caused by hotter less denser fluids and the fall of cooler denser fluids.
Energy The ability of a system to do work required for changes to happen within a system.
Radiation The transfer of energy by the movement by electromagnetic waves of subtonic particles.
Conduction The transfer of thermal energy that occurs in solids , liquids, and gasses when two substances of different temperatures touch.
Kinetic Energy Energy of motion.
Conductor A substance that allows flow and electrical change and transfers of thermal energy through matter.
Heat Transfer A thermal energy exchange between two different objects of different temperatures.
Mass A measure of how much matter is in a present substance.
States of matter Distinct forms of matter known in everyday experience solid , liquid, and gas
Thermal Energy The total kinetic (around motion) energy of the tiny particles that make up matter the faster the particles move the warmer the matter becomes
System A group of interacting, or interdependent elements forming a complex hole.
Matter Anything that has volume or mass.
Temperature Average kinetic energy of all the particles in a material, measured by a thermometer in degrees..
