Why did one month pass between the assassination and declaration of war? Germany (ally) agreed to Austria-Hungary's plan and they sent a letter to Serbia with a list of demands. Serbia rejected some and Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia. A domino effect of war declarations occurred due to alliances that had been made.
