| 1.Scientific Theory | a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world, based on a body of facts; CAN CHANGE AS NEW FACTS ARE DISCOVERED |
| 2.Scientific Law | the description of a naturally occurring phenomena in the world; DOES NOT CHANGE/IT JUST IS |
| 3.Hypothesis | Is an explanation for a question or problem that can be tested |
| 4.experiment | It is a procedure that tests a hypothesis under controlled conditions. |
| 5. Controlled experiment | Experiment in which only one variable is changed at a time. |
| 6.Variable | Any trait/feature that can be changed |
| 7.Dependent variable | responding variable; also called THE EFFECT |
| 8.Independent variable | Manipulated variable, also called CAUSE |
| 9. Control group | group not experimented on; used as comparison |
| 10.Constant variable | factors that are kept the same |
| 11. Qualitative Data | data that is observed and described; taste, smell, color |
| 12.Quantitative Data | data that can be measured, or counted; weight, temperature |
| 13.Associated | related to; having to do with |
| 14. Accuracy | how close your measurement is to the target value |
| 15.Precision | how consistent the results are to each other regardless the target value |
| 16.Mean | average value; add all values together and divide by the number of values |
| 17. Median | the middle value/number; must list the values in increasing order |
| 18.Mode | value that occurs/happens the most |
| 19.Circular/pie Graph | Parts of a whole |
| 20.Line Graph | change over time, or numbers vs. numbers |
| 21. Bar Graph | data you count or compare; words vs numbers |
| 22.DRYMIX | Dependent responding y-axis; manipulated independent x-axis |

| 25.Correlation | The extent to which two variables are related |
