Cornell Notes a structured note-taking system that divides a page into three sections—a right-hand "Notes" column for lecture details, a narrower left-hand "Cues/Questions" column for keywords and prompts, and a bottom "Summary" section for overall concepts
Scientific Method a method of procedure that has characterized natural science since the 17th century, consisting in systematic observation, measurement, and experiment, and the formulation, testing, and modification of hypotheses.
Elements a part or aspect of something abstract, especially one that is essential or characteristic.
Hypothesis a supposition or proposed explanation made on the basis of limited evidence as a starting point for further investigation.
Law the system of rules which a particular country or community recognizes as regulating the actions of its members and which it may enforce by the imposition of penalties.
Theory a well-substantiated, systematic explanation of some aspect of the natural or social world, developed through observation and experimentation, that brings together facts and tested hypotheses to explain why things happen, not just what happens
Variable Independent the factor, condition, or input that is changed, manipulated, or controlled by a researcher in an experiment to observe its effect on another variablea variable (often denoted by y ) whose value depends on that of another.
Variable Dependent a variable (often denoted by y ) whose value depends on that of another.
Variable Control a factor kept constant in an experiment to prevent it from influencing the results, ensuring any changes in the dependent variable are due to the independent variable

Data Taking the systematic process of gathering and measuring information (facts, figures, observations) on variables relevant to a research question or business need, turning raw input into usable data for analysis, decision-making, or testing hypotheses, using meth

Experimental Error the difference between a measured value in an experiment and its true or accepted value, representing unavoidable variations that affect accuracy, not intentional mistakes like miscalculations
