Lymphatic System

| spleen | an organ of the lymphatic system that recycles worn out blood cells and produces and stores lymphocytes. |
| lymphocytes | white blood cells that destroy pathogens |
| bone marrow | the spongy center of bones where red and white blood cells form |
| platelet | a small, irregular piece of a cell that plugs wounds to stop bleeding |
| plasma | the yellowish liquid part of blood that transports blood cells |
| lymphatic system | part of the immune system that helps destroy microorganisms that enter the body |
| lymph | tissue fluids that have has diffused into lymph vessels |
| lymph node | a small spongy structure that filters particles from lymph |
| thymos | the organism of the lymphatic system to which T cells complete their development |
| rh factor | a protein found on red blood cells, a chemical marker |
