| Fossil | Preserved remains of living organisms found in sedimentary rock |
| Fossil Fuels | Fuels formed from the remains of decaying plants and animals; coal, oil, and natural gas |
| Renewable resources | Resources that continue to replenish themselves over time even when used: air, water, sunlight, trees |
| Non renewable resources | Resources that can not be replaced in a short amount of time; coal, oil, natural gas |
