acedía (la) heartburn Sensación de ardor en el pecho o la garganta causada por acidez estomacal. A burning sensation in the chest or throat caused by stomach acid.
amigdalitis (la) tonsillitis Inflamación de las amígdalas, generalmente causada por una infección. Inflammation of the tonsils, usually caused by an infection.
caries (la) dental cavity Daño en un diente producido por bacterias y ácidos. Damage to a tooth caused by bacteria and acids.
cortadura (la) cut (in the skin) Herida pequeña hecha por un objeto afilado. A small wound caused by a sharp object.
diarrea (la) diarrhea Evacuaciones intestinales frecuentes y líquidas. Frequent, loose bowel movements.
dolorido/a sore (adjective) Que siente dolor o sensibilidad física. Feeling pain or physical tenderness.
dolor (el) pain Sensación física desagradable en alguna parte del cuerpo. An unpleasant physical sensation in the body.
dolor de cabeza (el) headache Dolor localizado en la cabeza. Pain located in the head.
dolor de estómago (el) stomach ache Dolor o molestia en el abdomen. Pain or discomfort in the stomach area.
dolor de garganta (el) sore throat Dolor o irritación al tragar. Pain or irritation when swallowing.
dolor de oídos (el) earache Dolor dentro o alrededor del oído. Pain in or around the ear.
dolor pungente (el) throbbing pain Dolor intenso que late o pulsa. Intense pain that throbs or pulses.
erupción (la) rash Cambio visible en la piel, a menudo con picazón. A visible skin change, often itchy.
estreñimiento (el) constipation Dificultad o poca frecuencia para evacuar. Difficulty or infrequency in bowel movements.
estornudo (el) sneeze Expulsión brusca de aire por la nariz. A sudden release of air through the nose.
fatiga (la) fatigue Cansancio extremo físico o mental. Extreme physical or mental tiredness.
fiebre calentura (la) fever Elevación anormal de la temperatura corporal. An abnormally high body temperature.
fiebre del heno (la) hay fever Reacción alérgica estacional con estornudos y congestión. A seasonal allergic reaction causing sneezing and congestion.
gripe (la) flu Enfermedad viral con fiebre, dolor y cansancio. A viral illness with fever, aches, and fatigue.
hemorragia nasal (la) nosebleed Sangrado que sale por la nariz. Bleeding from the nose.
herida (la) injury Daño físico en la piel o en los tejidos del cuerpo. Physical damage to the skin or body tissues.
hinchazón (la) swelling Aumento de volumen causado por inflamación o acumulación de líquidos. Enlargement caused by inflammation or fluid buildup.
hueso roto (el) broken bone Fractura de un hueso por golpe o accidente. A bone fracture caused by impact or injury.
infección (la) infection Invasión del cuerpo por microorganismos dañinos. The invasion of the body by harmful microorganisms.
llaga (la) sore Lesión abierta y dolorosa en la piel o mucosa. A painful open lesion on the skin or mucous membrane.
mareo (el) motion sickness / dizziness Sensación de malestar o inestabilidad, especialmente al moverse. A feeling of discomfort or unsteadiness, especially with movement.
moretón (el) bruise Mancha oscura en la piel causada por un golpe. A dark mark on the skin caused by a blow.
náusea (la) nausea Sensación de ganas de vomitar. The feeling of wanting to vomit.
nariz mucosa (la) runny nose Producción excesiva de mucosidad nasal. Excess nasal mucus discharge.
picadura (la) bite (insect) Lesión causada por un insecto u otro animal pequeño. An injury caused by an insect or small animal bite.
resfriado de cabeza (el) head cold Infección leve de las vías respiratorias superiores. A mild upper respiratory infection.
resfriado de pecho (el) chest cold Infección respiratoria que afecta el pecho y los bronquios. A respiratory infection affecting the chest and bronchi.
sangría (la) bleeding Pérdida de sangre por una herida o lesión. Loss of blood from a wound or injury.
tos (la) cough Expulsión brusca de aire de los pulmones. A sudden expulsion of air from the lungs.
vértigo (el) dizziness / vertigo Sensación intensa de giro o pérdida del equilibrio. A strong sensation of spinning or loss of balance.
