Argument Essay Vocab
| Question | Answer |

| Counterclaim | A point made by the opposing side of an argument. |
| Evidence | Facts, figures, details, quotations, or other sources of data and information that provide support for claims or an analysis and that can be evaluated by others. |
| Claim | The main argument of an essay. Also called a thesis. |
| Summarize | To make a brief statement that includes the main point about a topic, text, or idea. |
| Paraphase | Rewording something written or spoken while preserving the original meaning. |
| Cite | To support an idea or opinion by referring to sources (texts, media, images, etc.) |
| Relevant | Closely connected or appropriate to what is being considered. |
| Sufficient | Enough to achieve a particular purpose |
