BTEC DIT Network and Connectivity Terms

A temporary network set up between devices without a router. Ad Hoc Network
The amount of data that can be sent over a network at one time. Bandwidth
An area with little or no internet or mobile signal. Blackspot
A place or device that provides internet access wirelessly. Hotspot
Wireless internet available to everyone in public places. Public Wi-Fi
When too many users slow down a network. Network Congestion
A network where devices connect directly to each other. Peer-to-Peer Network
