| Neap Tide | occurs at the first and third quarter Moon phases; the Sun is at a right angle to the Moon |
| Spring Tide | occurs at the full and new Moon phases; the Earth, Moon and Sun are in alignment, pulling the water in the same direction |
| Tide | The rising and falling of the oceans due to the gravitational attraction of the Moon and Sun; usually occurs twice a day |

| Seasons | Caused by the tilt of the Earth away or toward the Sun from Earth's yearly orbit |
| Full moon | The Earth is between the Sun and Moon, allowing the Moon to fully reflect the Sun's light |
| New Moon | The Moon is between the Sun and Earth, blocking the Moon from reflecting any of the Sun's light |
