| crater | a bowl-like hole that forms when rock explodes from a volcano during an eruption. |
| earthqauke | vibrations within earth caused by the sudden release of energy, usually as a result of the movement of rock along a fault. |
| geyser | A geyser is a rare hot spring that periodically erupts columns of hot water and steam, formed by underground water heated by magma, trapped by a unique plumbing system, and released as pressure builds. |
| hot spring | volcanic area that forms under a plate or at a mid-ocean ridge and produces runny lava. |
| volcano | a landform, usually cone-shaped, produced by a collection of erupted material around a vent, or opening on the surface of earth and through which gas and erupted material pass. |
| fossil | preserved remains of an organism, usually from prehistoric times. |
