Comic Relief In a tragedy a break in the seriousness or tension for a moment of comedy
Dialogue Conversation between two or more characters in a literary work
Monologue A long speech by one character delivered to other characters on stage
Soliloquy A long speech in which a character, alone on stage, expresses their inner thoughts to the audience
Aside A brief remark spoken by a character to the audience or themselves that other characters on stage are not meant to hear
Stage directions Instructions in a script that describe the setting, actions, or movements of the performers
Iambic pentameter A line of poetry consisting of five metrical feet, each with one unstressed syllable followed by one stressed syllable
