Pregnancy Pregnancy is the period when a fertilized egg develops into a fetus inside a woman's uterus, typically lasting about 40 weeks (9 months) and divided into three trimesters,
Childbirth Childbirth is the process of giving birth to a baby. It includes labor and delivery of the fetus and the placenta.
Puerperium Puerperium is defined as the time from the delivery of the placenta through the first few weeks after the delivery. This period is usually considered to be 6 weeks in duration.
Gravid The term "gravida" refers to a pregnant female.
Nulligravida A "nulligravida" is a female who has never been pregnant
Primagravida A "primagravida" is a female who is pregnant for a first time or only once
Multigravida "multigravida" or "secundigravida" is a female who has been pregnant more than once.
Parity or para refers to parity, counting the number of pregnancies a woman has carried to a viable stage (past 20 weeks), indicating her birth history (e.g., Para 1, Para 2). It signifies the number of deliveries, not pregnancies, with twins counting as one birth.
Nulliparous Nullipara (or nulliparous) is a medical term for a woman who has never given birth to a viable child
What does G3P2002 represent in obstetrical health record? G3 means 3 pregnancies total , P2002 as 2 Term births , 0 Preterm births , 0 Abortions/miscarriages (before 20 wks), and 2 Living children, indicating a patient with two live babies from two prior pregnancies, currently pregnant with her third.
