| Protoplasm | Content of cell excluding vacuoles and cell wall |
| Bladder | sac filled with fluid or air. In urinary system, holding urine produced in kidneys |
| Bone | Hard connective tissue that makes up skeleton |
| Cartilage | Elastic connective tissue found in joints |
| Genetic Engineering | Alternating and manipulating genes |
| Kidney | Main organ of excretion of nitrogenous waste |
| Meristem | region of active cell division in plants (mitosis) |
| Organ Systems | Group of organs working together to carry our specific function |
| Species | Group of similar organisms capable of reproduction to produce fertile offspring |
| Transgenic Organism | genetic make up has been altered by addition of a gene in genetic engineering |
| Ureter | Tube carrying urine away from kidney to bladder |
| Urethra | tube carrying urine out of bladder |
