| Secondary colors | Colors created when 2 primary colors are mixed. |
| Line | Represent the visual movement between 2 points: gives an arrangement structure, shape, movement. |
| Monochromatic colors | Different values of 1 hue (pink, red maroon). |
| Chroma | The purity of a color, determined by its degree of freedom from white or gray. |
| Hue | A particular color, regardless of the quality of black or white it contains. |
| Cool colors | Blue, green, violet |
| Contrast | Mixing opposite colors and textures. |
| Texture | The surface quality of a flower, foliage, or container. |
| Primary colors | Red, yellow, blue |
| Space | The 3-dimensional area of floral design, encompassing negative and positive space. |
| Intensity | The dullness or brightness of a color. |
| Symmetrical balance | All product is equally distributed on either side of the vertical axis. |
| Complementary colors | A combination of hues in very strongest contrast, opposite on the color wheel. |
| Color Harmony | The various usable or pleasing combinations of color. |
| Proportion | Size of the flowers in a relationship to each other, the container, ant the arrangement to its surrounding, also known as scale. |
| Shade | Any color that has had black added to it. |
| Neutral colors | Black, white, gray |
| Harmony | The careful blending of textures, shapes, plant materials and colors. |
| Triad | Any 3 colors that are equally spaced on the color wheel. |
| Value | The lightness or darkness of a color. |
| Balance | The visual and physical stability of a floral design. |
| Warm colors | Red, orange, yellow |
| Analogous colors | Achieved through the use of 3 or more hues in a sequence on the color wheel, with only one being a primary color. |
| Rhythm | The unity and flow of materials that creates a pleasing image to the eye. |
| Tone | Any color that has white added to it. |
| Unity | an arrangement looks and feels that the design is one singular unit. |
| Focal point | The point to which the eyes are first drawn and is clearly defined. |
| Tint | Any color that has had gray added to it. |
