What are some ON BED Activities? - Reach and roll - Bridge - prop on elbows - sitting balance
What are some OFF BED activities? - sitting balance / lean forward - clear bottom of surface - march on spot - step forward/backward - walk
What is a Full (passive) Hoist? what does it do? It is a hoist that lifts someone up completely to transfer them to another chair or bed. It is used for people who have a non-weight bearing status.
What is a Standing (active) Hoist? What does it do? It assists people to move from sitting to standing to another chair or bed. For person for has some weight bearing through one leg but cannot stand by themselves
What is a Sarah stedy and what is it used for? A sarah steady is a transfer device used to move someone from sitting to another chair or bed. Person needs to be able to stand for short period and have good upper limb strength
What is a Return Frame (standing frame) and what is it used for? Is a frame used to transfer patients from sitting to standing to another location. Patient must be able to stand but may not have adequate balance, must have upper body strength
