| Kinetic Molecular Theory | All substances are made of particles that are moving. When energy is added, the particles move faster, and when energy is removed, the particles move slower. |
| Endothermic Reaction | A reaction which requires energy to take place (energy enters the objects undergoing the reaction) |
| Exothermic Reaction | A reaction which gives off energy as it takes place (energy leaves the object that is undergoing the reaction). |
| Temperature | A measure of the average kinetic energy of the particles in a system. |
| Pressure- | A force per unit of area. |
| Solid, Liquid, Gas- | States of matter, fixed shape and volume |
| Kinetic Energy- | The energy of a moving object, or energy in motion |
| Triple Point- | A point in which the temperature and pressure at which the solid, liquid, and vapor (gas) phases of a pure substance can coexist in equilibrium. |
| Melting Point- | The temperature at which a given solid will melt. |
| Boiling Point | The temperature at which a given liquid will vaporize. |
| Density- | The degree of compactness of a substance measured by the quantity of mass per unit of volume. |
