What is the Commutative Property of Addition? a+b=b+a
What is the Commutative Property of Multiplication? ab=ba
What is the Associative Property of Addition? (a+b)+c=a+(b+c)
What is the Associative Property of Multiplication? (ab)c=a(bc)
What is the Inverse Property of Addition? a+(-a)=0
What is the Inverse Property of Multiplication? a*(1/a)=1
What is the Identity Property of Addition? a+0=a
What is the Identity Property of Multiplication? a*1=a
What does simplify mean? Reduce an expression to its simplest form
What does solve mean? Find the value of the variable that makes the statement true
What is an equation? A statement showing two expressions are equal
What is an inequality? A statement comparing two expressions using > < ≥ ≤
What is a variable? A symbol representing a value that can change
What is an average? Sum of values divided by the number of values
What is a line? A straight one-dimensional figure extending infinitely
What is standard form? Ax+By=C
What is a graph? A visual representation of relationships between variables
What is a reflection? A flip of a graph across an axis or line
What is a vertical stretch? A graph stretched away from the x-axis
What is a factor? A number that multiplies with another to form a product
What is a unit? A single whole quantity
What is a vertex? The highest or lowest point of a graph
What is an axis? A reference line such as the x-axis or y-axis
What is slope (m)? The rate of change or steepness of a line
What are points? Specific locations represented by coordinates
What is a system? Two or more equations solved together
What does graphing mean? Plotting points to find solutions visually
What is a solution? A value or point that satisfies the equation or system
What is substitution? Solving by replacing one variable with an expression
What is elimination? Solving by adding or subtracting equations to remove a variable
What does x represent? A variable
What does y represent? A variable
What does w represent? A variable
What does + mean? Addition
What does − mean? Subtraction
What does = mean? Equality
What does × mean? Multiplication
What does ÷ mean? Division
What does ± mean? Plus or minus
What does √ mean? Square root
What does factor mean? Break an expression into multiplied parts
What is factoring? Writing an expression as a product
What is completing the square? Rewriting a quadratic into vertex form
What does using square roots mean? Solving by isolating and rooting
What does round mean? Adjusting to the nearest place value
What is a function? A relationship where each input has one output
What is the axis of symmetry? A vertical line dividing a graph evenly
What is the y-intercept? Where a graph crosses the y-axis
What is the minimum value? The lowest output of a function
What are square roots? Values that produce a number when squared
What does squared mean? Raised to the power of 2
What does cubed mean? Raised to the power of 3
