TermDefinition
Political Socialization process through which an individual acquires their own political orientations
Political Ideology attitudes and beliefs that help shape our opinions on political theory and policy
Reactionary Favors extreme change to restore society to an earlier, more conservative state
Fascism The ruling party or political leader wields total control over the economy, military, society, culture, and often the private lives of citizens.
Ideologues an adherent of an ideology, especially one who is uncompromising and dogmatic
Group benefits voters people who think of politics in terms of groups they like or dislike. Ex:"Rep. support small business owners like me" Ex2:Dem. are for the working people
Nature of the times voters limited to whether the times are good or bad for them; they might link the party in power w/ the country's fortune or misfortune

representative or quota sample a group whose demographic distribution is similar to that of the overall population
Push Polls Polls that intentionally ask leading questions in order to convey politically biased campaign information intended to change minds
Bradley Effect some white voters who intend to vote for the white candidate will nonetheless tell pollsters that they are undecided or likely to vote for the non-white candidate
Horse Race Effect journalism that resembles horse race coverage due to its focus on polling data and public perception instead of candidate policy. The reporting almost exclusively reports the differences rather than similarities between the candidates.
Tracking Polls repeated periodically with the same group of people to check and measure changes of opinion or knowledge
