| additional liability insurance | claims of bodily injury or property damage brought against you personally in the event of an accident. |
| American automobile association | an organization, either for-profit or non-profit, which motorists (drivers and vehicle owners) can join to enjoy benefits provided by the club relating to driving a vehicle. |
| amtrak | a corporation striving to deliver a high quality, safe, on-time rail passenger service that exceeds customer expectations. |
| boarding pass | a pass for boarding an aircraft, given to a passenger when the ticket is issued or upon check-in at the airport. |
| bumped | happens when there are more passengers scheduled to fly on an airplane than available seats. |
| business class | a class of seating on an aircraft that is superior to economy class but less expensive than first class, intended especially for people traveling on business |
| charter | package trips consisting of pre-arranged services including transport, accommodation, and often meals and options for associated activities. |
| collision damage waiver | removes a car renter's liability for all or some damage to a rental vehicle in an accident |
| connecting flight | one that requires you to have a layover, whether brief or longer, and change planes in order to get to your final destination. |
| Direct flight | one that doesn't require passengers to change airplanes but may have one or more planned stops en route to its final destination. |
| Economy class | the lowest travel class of seating in air travel, rail travel, and sometimes ferry or maritime travel. |
| Excess baggage charge | when luggage exceeds the standard allowance in size, weight, or quantity |
| federal aviation administration | the organization responsible for managing our nation's busy skies. |
| first class | the best or highest group or class |
| motorcoach | a type of bus built for longer distance service |
| nonstop flight | a flight by an aircraft with no intermediate stops |
| one way trip | a travel paid by a fare purchased for a trip on an aircraft, a train, a bus, or some other mode of travel without a return trip. |
| open jaw trip | an itinerary that uses different means of transport, available in your area of departure, destination or both, to take you on trips to other locations. |
| over book | the practice of intentionally accepting a number of reservations for a service to be rendered, |
| round trip | travel to the destination and back again. |
| Standby | a request to fly on an earlier flight than you're ticketed for if there are empty seats last minute. |
| tourist destination | a city, town, or other area that is significantly dependent on revenues from tourism |
