| Argument | what the author wants to convince you of their position |
| Claim | the author's main point |
| Evidence | what the author uses to support their claim |
| Counterclaim | the opposite viewpoint of the authors claim |
| Rebuttal | when the author responds right to the counterclaim |
| Credibility | the author is able to be beloved and trusted |
| Ethos | emphasizes the speaker's credibility and authority conveys trustworthiness, expertise. |
| Pathos | appeals to the audience's emotions is used to influence the audience to a desired belief or action. |
| Logos | appeals to the audience's logic or reason uses any form of proof to influence an audience. |
