algebra terms

| constant | a term without a variable |
| coefficient | the part of a number with variables |
| term | a single number or variable, or numbers and variables multiplied together. Are usually separated by addition and subtraction signs. |
| like term | two or more terms with the same variable or exponent. |
| sum | the answer to a addition problem |
| difference | the answer to a subtraction problem |
| product | the answer to a multiplication problem |
| quotient | The answer to a division problem. |
| fewer than/less than | subtract+reverse |
| how much more/less | subtract |
| algebraic expressions | have at least one variable and one operation |
| % or fraction of | multiply |
| each | divide |
| than/from | reverse the order of the expression |
| associative property | The way in which numbers are grouped does not change the answer |
| communicative property | The order in which numbers are grouped when added or multiplied does not change the answer. |
| identify property of addition | The sum of an addend and zero is the same as the addend |
| identify property of multiplication | The product of any factor & 1 is the same as the factor |
| additive inverse property | adding any number and its opposite will produce a sum of zero |
| multiplicative inverse property | multiplying any number and its inverse will equal one |
