| Medical Assistant | prepares patients for examination, takes vital signs and medical history, performs basic laboratory tests and cleans and maintains equipment. May also fill an administrative role such as the position of receptionist or office manager. |
| Nursing assistant, Nurse’s aide, Patient Care Technician (PCT) | also known as an orderly: provides basic and essential patient care such as bathing, bed making, and feeding |
| Registered nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, License Vocational Nurse | is state a licensed to provide and manage patient care. |
| RN | An RN is authorized to provide specialized services, including administering medications, teaching, and supervising other staff members. |
| LPV or LVN | An LPN or LVN provides for patients’ needs under the supervision of an RN or physician. |

| Radiologic Technician or x-ray technician | works under the supervision of a radiologist to take x-rays for diagnostic purposes, administer radiation, and use nuclear medicine, ultrasound, and magnetic resonance for the diagnosis and treatment of disease. |
