argument,claim terms

ethos emphasizes the speakers credibility and authority. examples: celebrity endorsement
logos uses logic and reason with data and statistics
pathos uses the audience's emotions.
claim the authors main point
credibility the author is able to be trusted and believed in
argument when the author wants to convince you of their position
evidence what the author uses to support the claim
counterclaim the opposite view point of the authors claim
rebuttal when the author responds directly to the counterclaim
