Argument/Claim terms
| Term | Definition |

| Ethos | Emphasizes the speaker's credibility and authority. |
| Pathos | Appeals to the audience's emotions. |
| Logos | Appeals to the audience's logic or reasoning. |
| Claim | The author's main point, a statement he or she believes to be true, must be arguable and provable. |
| Credibility | The author is able to be beloved and trusted. |
| Reliable evidence | Information or data that is trustworthy, accurate, and consistent, and can be verified through reputable sources. |
| Argument | Claims backed by reasons that are supported by evidence |
| Claim | A statement that presents an idea or series of ideas as arguments |
| Evidence | Information that you can use to support an argument |
| Counterclaim | A claim for relief filed against an opposing party after the original claim is filed |
| Rebuttal | A response that presents evidence or arguments aimed at countering or disproving the claims made by an opposing party |
| Credibility | Able to be trusted or believed |
