Argument and Claim
| Question | Answer |

| Ethos | Emphasizes the speakers credibility and authority |
| Pathos | Appeals to the audience's emotions |
| Logos | Appeals to the audience's logic or reason |
| Claim | The author's main point, a statement he or she believes to be true, must be arguable and provable. |
| Credibility | The author is able to be believed or trusted. |
| Evidence | Anything that can be used to prove something. |
| Rebuttal | When the author responds directly to the counterclaim. |
| Counterclaim | The opposite viewpoint of the author's claim. |
| Argument | When the author wants to convince you of their position. |
